45 million tonnes. This is the volume of milk India requires for a growing population, coupled with increased consumption, in the next seven years, Girish Aivalli, the CEO of the Rural Agri Ventures India, said.
Hence, the Gurgaon-based company is expanding the presence of its cattle feed, marketed under the "Milk Plus" brand, in Rajasthan, the largest state in India, the Financial Express reported.
Rural Agri Ventures hopes to boost milk productivity there by introducing its cattle feed products to farmers. This occurred during a recent buyer-seller meeting in Jaipur, which was joint-organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry and Rajasthan's government.
"Provision of good quality feed is paramount to ensure robust animal health and milk yield," Avialli commented.
"We are committed to serve India's animal wealth, boost milk productivity and multiply farmers' incomes," added Tanveer Malik, the chief business officer for Rural Agri Ventures's animal feed business. He claimed that the company's products will provide a 10% boost to total milk yield.
"Our products offer a holistic diet for cattle whose nutritional value supersedes that received from traditional feed, also known as home mix, used by farmers."
Rural Agri Ventures India, which is formed last year, purposes to serve rural and agro business industries which may not receive adequate support.
