Maple Leaf to sell poultry processing property

Maple Leaf Farms plans to sell the 802 acres of property previously used for duck production at auction on August 13.

The property includes a processing plant, poultry buildings and other facilities. The land will be sold in 20 tracts to allow buyers to purchase just what suits their needs, Maple Leaf Farms co-president Scott Tucker said.

R.D. Schrader, vice-president of Schrader Auction Co., said the processing plant and poultry buildings have been maintained and can still be used for poultry production and processing, but buyers may be more interested in converting the land to other uses.
