China Calcium Substantial price drops (week ended Jul 18, 2022)

An eFeedLink Exclusive

Calcium phosphate prices dropped substantially as producers attempted to clear mounting stocks amid tepid demand.

Nonetheless, Strong demand from the aqua feed sector helped to support the prices of monocalcium phosphate to remain stable.

Export prices of high-grade calcium phosphate dipped to US$0.51/kg while prices of second-tier products slid to US$0.50/kg. Monocalcium phosphate export prices were stable at US$0.78/kg.

Locally, prices of higher-grade calcium phosphate decreased to the range of RMB3.41-3.68/kg. Lower grade products prices fell to RMB3.35/kg.

Meanwhile, monocalcium phosphate transact prices stayed at RMB5.23/kg.

Low sow and piglet feed consumption, resulting from shrinking inventories, will limit the sales of calcium phosphate. Producers will hold prices attractive in efforts to clear stocks.
