Romania's bumper rapeseed crop could help EU exceed expectations
Romania's rapeseed harvest this year could be 52% higher on-year, helping the European Union exceed crop expectations, according to Oil World.
Overall, the large crops in Romania, Germany and the United Kingdom might help the EU exceed estimations, and reach a record 22.7 million tonnes.
Romania's production could reach one million tonnes, 52% higher than in 2013. Germany, the largest rapeseed producer in the EU, could stay at 5.9 million tonnes this year.
Rapeseed futures were down last week on the Euronext, to EUR 326 a ton, as crop production has been on the rise.
