World grain production to reach 2269 million tonnes

Global grain output will hit 2,269.08 million tonnes in the 2011/12 crop year, increasing from the last forecast of 2,264.59 million, according to the USDA on Tuesday (Jul 12).

World output for 2011/12 would include 662.42 million tonnes of wheat, 1,150.34 million of coarse feed grains and 456.32 million of rice.

Oilseeds were pegged at 455.51 million tonnes.
