Peru permits resumption of pork imports from Colombia

Peru has ended restrictions on pork coming from Colombia as the latter got back its foot and mouth disease-free status with vaccination.

The National Agricultural Health Service of Peru (SENASA) announced the lifting of restrictions on the import of fresh, chilled and frozen pork and beef of Colombian origin.

The restrictions were imposed by SENASA through resolution 016 of 2017, due to the outbreaks of FMD that occurred in Colombia in 2017 and 2018.
