Azerbaijan rents land to China

The Azerbaijani government is starting to lease areas of the country to China, its maiden land tenant.

The first meeting of the working group on trade and economic cooperation between the governments of Azerbaijan and Sinkiang Uighur Autonomous Region of China has been held in Baku yesterday (Jul 11).

According to the protocol, Azerbaijan agreed to consider the issue of lease of Azerbaijani agricultural lands by China for development of crop growing, livestock and fisheries. Joint ventures may be established with the same purpose.

The Chinese side is also ready to train Azerbaijani farmers to work on agricultural machinery.
