5th Leman China Swine Conference to be held in Oct
To promote international communication and cooperation within the swine industry, the 5th Leman China Swine Conference will be held October 16-18, 2016 in Nanjing, China.
The event is organised by The University of Minnesota and is supported by the Nanjing Government, the US Grains Council, the Chinese Veterinary Medical Association, and Jinlin University.
The University of Minnesota Allen D. Leman Swine Conference is the world's largest annual educational event for the global swine industry, with a 31-year history. It is internationally recognised for bringing science-driven solutions to the complex challenges facing the industry.
In 2012, the conference first entered China, and in just four years, it has drawn great attention from China's and the world's swine industry. Attendance of the conference has grown 50% annually from the first year's 650 to 2,734 in the third year, with a satisfaction rate of over 94.5%.
Participants come from more than 20 countries including China, the US, Canada, Denmark, France, Spain, Japan, Korea, the Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand. The conference brings together expertise in swine production, veterinary medicine, animal health, feed and nutrition, and industrial-related services.
Additionally, the World Swine Industry Expo at the event will provide an improved experience for participating companies through a larger exhibition area and extended exhibition time. The Expo will serve as an industry platform for domestic and foreign enterprises to exchange industry information, promote new applied technology and products, and explore business opportunities. The Expo will be opened to the general public in addition to Leman China delegates. The Expo will offer over 25,000 square metres of exhibition area, and is estimated to attract more than 30,000 visitors.
Pre-training programmes, technical seminars, poster presentations, a dinner party and a product launch are other highlights of the event.
