Norway's seafood exports hit US$4.8 billion in H1

 

 

Norwegian seafood exports from January-June 2011 reached a total amount of NOK25.9 billion (US$4.8 billion), increasing by NOK1.9 billion (US$351.2 million) from the same period last year.

 

Salmon exports rose 8.6% to NOK15 billion (US$2.7 billion), reaching a volume of 362,000 tonnes. The average price per kilogramme rose from NOK36.14 (US$6.68) to NOK39.08 (US$7.22). Brown trout exports reached a value of NOK610 million (US$112.8 million), down by NOK102 million (US$18.9 million), volume wise falling from 19,000 to 14,000 tonnes. Salted cod exports reached NOK712 million (US$131.6 million), up by NOK147 million (US$27.2 million) and stockfish exports reached NOK1.6 billion (US$295.8 million), up NOK89 million (US$16.5 million).

 

In June however, seafood exports fell NOK425 million (US$78.6 million).
