German pig slaughters fell 4.4% in Q1 2021
Pig slaughters in Germany have dropped 4.4% in the first quarter of 2021.
Around 13.39 million pigs were slaughtered in the country during the first three months of 2021, approximately 596,000 animals less than in the same period of the previous year.
As for pork production, about 1.3 million tonnes were produced during the first quarter of 2021, a slight decrease of 2.7% compared to the first quarter of last year, due to higher slaughter pig weights.
