Novus to present 5 technical abstracts at PSA annual meeting

Novus researchers will present five technical abstracts at the 2016 Poultry Science Association (PSA) annual meeting in New Orleans, Louisiana, which will be held on July 11-14. This event acts as an incubator for academics, scientists and technical professionals to gather and present solutions in the poultry industry.

The discussions, symposia and presentations held during the event will revolve around ways to improve the efficacy, sustainability and profitability of global meat and egg production.

Novus' oral presentation will be on Tuesday, July 12, at 4:30 p.m. with Dr. Frances Yan, senior research scientist in Poultry Nutrition at Novus, leading a discussion entitled "Evaluation of xylanase form and dose in broilers fed wheat-based diets".

After Dr. Yan's oral presentation, Dr. Megharaja Manangi, also a senior research scientist in Poultry Nutrition, will present a poster entitled "Efficacy of a next generation microbial phytase in laying hens fed corn-soybean meal-based diets" from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Other Novus presentations are as follows:
  • Oral presentation: "Evaluation of CIBENZA® DP100 protease enzyme on apparent illeal amino acid digestibility" (Wednesday, July 13, 2:45 p.m.)
  • Oral presentation: "Does phytate origin affect phytase response differently?" (Wednesday, July 13, 4:30 p.m.)
  • Oral presentation: "Effect of chelated copper on gut health in broilers" (Thursday, July 14, 1:30 p.m.)

A longtime supporter of the PSA and the scientific community as a whole, Novus is demonstrating that support with a Gold-level event sponsorship. In addition, Novus is continuing its annual tradition of honoring the work of an outstanding teacher and an outstanding scholar for their efforts and commitment to the poultry industry, both in and outside the classroom.
