Australia's beef exports to EU doubles on good prices
Australia has more doubled its beef exports to the EU, according to Meat and Livestock Australia (MLA).
Demand for Australian beef is growing due to a cut in South American beef supplies and the EU market is ready to pay high prices, according to MLA analyst Peter Weeks.
Weeks said current prices range between AU$8-10 per kilogramme but lower quality beef would be sold for AU$5 per kilogramme. Weeks said most of Australian beef exports are around AU$3-4 per kilogramme on average.
