The Agrarian Fund of Ukraine plans to buy two million tonnes of grains of the new harvest in July-September of 2011, declared Nikolay Bezugly, First Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, on June 29.
According to him, to date the Fund already purchased nearly 900,000 tonnes of milling grains at forward contracts.
Bezugly said that the Agrarian Fund intends to launch tender purchasing of grains since June 30. The Fund will provide weekly tenders for grain purchasing, including wheat, barley, rye, corn, and buckwheat grain at the prices previously installed by the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food.
The Agrarian Fund was founded by the Ukrainian Government on July 6, 2005. It functions as the authorised state agency for the realisation of pricing policy in the agricultural sector, and belongs to the management sphere of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy.
