Solvay and Orffa enhance partnership in Denmark

Solvay and its distributor partner Orffa have expanded their relationship to better serve the Bicar^®Z sodium bicarbonate market in Denmark.

Bicar^®Z is the sodium bicarbonate based solution produced by Solvay for livestock breeding. This source of essential nutrients for animal nutrition has a high buffering capacity that improves the yield of livestock.

The agreement, effective July 1, 2016, allows Solvay to increase its Bicar^® Z market penetration in Denmark by capitalising on Orffa's technical and marketing competences in the animal feed industry.

"Feed is a key market for Solvay which is recognised for the quality of its GMP-certified production and its strong industrial network. The partnership with Orffa will support Solvay sales development of Bicar^®Z in its North European feed market by using Orffa's strong technical feed expertise and good customers focus", said Juan-Carlos Gomez, Solvay commercial manager, bicarbonate & derivatives EMEA.

"We are excited to market and distribute Bicar^® Z there. It improves Orffa's position to effectively serve the animal nutrition market in Denmark, where technical expertise, commercial skills and marketing competences are essential", said Maarten Breukink, Business Unit Manager Ingredients, Orffa.

Orffa is currently distributing Bicar^®Z in Belgium, Luxembourg, the Netherlands and Germany.
