Finland's meat consumption expected to rise
Meat consumption in Finland is expected to rise this year, following a trend since the autumn of 2010, and picking up speed in 2011.
The Finnish Food and Drinks Industries Federation says an increased interest in low-carbohydrate diets among consumers may be contributing to this trend, as Finnish consumers cut down the amount of carbohydrates in their diet, eating more meat instead.
The recent recession may also be a factor, as people buy more meat products after a recession, according to the federation.
