Suguna to expand designer egg market exposure

  
   
India's leading company Suguna is expanding its designer egg sales and exposure by launching the products in various Indian states.


Suguna had sold its designer eggs in Indian retail stores for the past one year. The designer eggs line up includes Suguna Heart, Active, Pro and Shakti, which are rich in vitamin E and Omega-3 fatty acids that help to check heart problems.


The eggs had been launched in the Chennai, Coimbatore and Bangalore markets and most recently, in Andhra Pradesh.


Suguna's general manager Dr K Ravindran said the company would be launching the products in Mumbai, New Delhi and Kolkata in phases this year.


Suguna is currently in talks with US retail giant Wal-Mart for the supply of its designer eggs.


Based in Coimbatore, Suguna has presence in 11 Indian states with a turnover of Rs14 billion (US$328 million) in 2006-07.
  

The company sells one million designer eggs per month, contributing about 2 percent to revenues.
