China methionine market remains sluggish

Prices of methionine were mostly lower during the week ending June 21.

The availability of methionine reduced as producers gradually halt operation of routine maintenance. Nonetheless, supplies remained ample due to excess capacity of the industry. Moreover, as broiler and egg markets stayed soft, poultry feed millers prudently limited buying.

Price quotes of imported dl-methionine fell to the range of RMB29.50-30.50/kg.
