In April, Adisseo invited customers from Asia Pacific countries for an exploration tour of the company's research and development (R&D) facilities in France, with an aim to introduce Adisseo's new product, Rovabio Advance.

The delegates were warmly welcomed by the Global Business Director, Mrs. Helene Llorca, followed with presentations by Dr. Alex Wu on the challenges of the feed industry and how to maximise the feed potential with enzymes.

The second day at CINABio, Adisseo's Biotechnology facility, Dr. Marc Maestracci introduced Adisseo's expertise in enzymes development while Dr. Knud Erik Bach Knudsen, a world-renowned scientist on carbohydrates and bioactive phytochemicals, was invited to share his knowledge on the complexity of fibers and non-starch polysaccharides (NSP) content in common crops in broiler diets. It was introduced that cereal grains contain complex structures, such as arabinoxylan and β-glucan. This presentation sparked a lively debate between the speaker and delegates on how to manage fiber-rich raw materials.

This led to the talk of Dr. Olivier Guais, exploring Talaromyces Versatilis' genomic potential. He explained why arabinofuranosidases are key in boosting the efficacy of xylanases and effectively degrading the complex NSPs in crops. Rovabio Advance, produced from Talaromyces Versatilis, is the first feedase to reach the market. Thus capable of improving overall feed digestibility and has demonstrated excellent improvement in performance, thanks to enhanced activities of xylanases and arabinofuranosidases.

At the Centre of Expertise and Research in Nutrition (CERN), one of the key opinion leading scholars, Dr. Mike Kidd, shared his opinions on the improvement of Rovabio Advance in corn-soya diets.

The last facility visit was conducted in CARAT, Adisseo's analytical laboratory, where the delegates were shown how Adisseo bridges science to industrial application. Enzymes application, quality control and practical testing tools were demonstrated and explained.
