Global Commodities Group announces grain event merger
The Global Commodities Group (GCG), Geneva, organisers of the Annual Global Grain Conference, has announced the formation of a Joint Venture company with The Centre for Management Technology (CMT), Singapore, organisers of the World Grains Summit, to launch GLOBAL GRAIN ASIA in Singapore in early March 2012.
Andrew Osborne, Managing Director of GCG says, "We have been approached by many companies in the grain trade to replicate the format and success of the Global Grain Geneva conference in the Asia region. However, we are very aware of the number of new conferences and events appearing in the 'Grain Calendar' and the time and travel constraints of our clients. We therefore wanted to join together with an existing conference provider to organise the one 'must attend event', and are delighted to be working with the highly professional CMT team who also have over 28 years experience in organising conferences worldwide. Together we share a vision and commitment to produce the Number One Grain Event for the Asia Region, which is reasonably priced and delivers what it promises."
Having produced a very successful conference in Geneva that brings together producers, traders and consumers of grains and oilseeds mainly in the Mediterranean, Middle-Eastern and African markets; launching a similar event for the Asia-Pacific market is a logical step as this region is the major consumer for the Australian, North American and South American producing countries.
"We believe that our success in bringing over 900 delegates from more than 60 countries to Global Grain and our in-depth knowledge and experience in the grain industry, together with CMT's unique experience in the Asian market, provides us with a strong foundation to attract the grain and oilseeds community within the region to a high quality conference in Singapore," says Osborne.
