China's Henan sees rising summer wheat output this year
The summer wheat output in Henan province, one of China's major grain producers, will reach 31.5 million tonnes this year, scoring the eighth consecutive increase, according to the Agricultural Development Bank of China (ADBC), the policy lender for purchase of summer wheat.
The newly harvested wheat crops are available on the market. At present the overall purchase price of wheat is above RMB2 (US$0.31)/kg in the province and the high quality wheat is priced around RMB2.10-2.40 (US$0.32-0.37)/kg in the north part of Henan province, both higher than the protective minimum price purchase offered by the state.
It thus makes it impossible to initiate the minimum price purchase in an all-round way in the province.
