Output from China's animal husbandry industry exceeds RMB2.9 trillion in 2014
According to the latest data released by the Ministry of Agriculture, the total output value from China's animal husbandry industry in 2014 had exceeded RMB2.9 trillion. The proportion of China's swine, layers and dairy cattle farms in 2014, were 42%, 69% and 45% respectively.
There are currently 583 leading national animal husbandry enterprises in China, accounting for 47% of the nation's total enterprises in the industry. China has also experienced significant breakthrough in its animal husbandry's genetic improvement programs. Since the 12th Five-Year Plan, China has cultivated a total of 39 new livestock varieties, and its independent layer breeds are now accounting for more than 40% of the nation's market share.
In addition, the per capita net income of farmers in China has also increased to RMB6,287.70 last year, up 39.9% from 2010.
