China completes over half of winter wheat harvest
 

 

China has harvested over half of its winter wheat crops, or 185 million mu, as of Friday (Jun 10), according to the Ministry of Agriculture (MOA).

 

China is the largest wheat producing country in the world.

 

The mechanised harvesting of wheat crops in China has reached 80%, and the mechanised harvest area exceeded 12 million mu (800,000 ha) on Friday, said the Ministry.

 

The mechanised harvesting of wheat crops in Henan, Shandong, Hebei, Anhui, and Jiangsu, which together contributes 75% of national wheat output, has been more than 96%, higher then the 95% in 2010.
