Trouw Nutrition to host webinar on palatability of trace minerals
The newest installment in the Trouw Nutrition Global Webinar Series, IntelliBond Abilities: Palatability and Beyond, will be held on July 1, from 9:00 to 10:00 CET and 16:00 to 17:00 CET.
The webinar will be led by Sophie Prentice, PhD, Monogastric Feed Additive product manager and Davi Brito, DVM, MSc, Global Trace Mineral Programme manager at Trouw Nutrition.
Research shows that taste matters when it comes to trace mineral supplementation and feed intake. Even the most nutritious, high-quality diet will not deliver its full benefit if ingredients in the ration reduce feed intake. While trace minerals such as Cu, Zn, and Mn are essential to optimising animal health, performance and well-being, taste or palatability is an often overlooked dietary consideration that can threaten to reduce swine and ruminants' feed intake and compromise producers' feed investment.
Research conducted at Trouw Nutrition R&D facilities in partnership with leading universities finds that the reduced solubility of hydroxy trace minerals not only supports the bioavailability and digestibility of fibre in response to antagonists in the diet, but hydroxy trace minerals deliver a neutral taste, improving the intake of different types of feed, pellets, mineral supplements, etc.
Registration for the webinar is free and available here.
