Cargill Global visits Aviagen operations in Scotland and the Netherlands

From May 17 to 24, a global delegation from Cargill, a valued Ross® customer, visited Aviagen® operations in the Netherlands and Scotland. The delegation included representatives from across Latin America, Europe, North America, and Asia.

The tour offered a firsthand look at Aviagen's commitment to innovation, sustainable poultry breeding and animal welfare, as well as opportunities for knowledge-sharing across regions.

Exploring poultry innovation in the Netherlands

The group began their journey in the Netherlands with visits to Aviagen trials facilities and key equipment supplier sites, allowing delegates to hear firsthand the latest industry developments on technology and equipment available in broiler and breeder production.

Spotlight on Aviagen Research and Development in Scotland

The visit continued in Edinburgh, Scotland, where Cargill delegates visited Aviagen headquarters and a top-performing broiler farm. During this visit, they gained insight into Aviagen's latest Research and Development initiatives and several aspects of the UK market.

A highlight of the tour was a visit to Aviagen Group's Global Centre for Genomics, a state-of-the-art facility that processes millions of poultry DNA samples each year. Since 2012, Aviagen has used genomics to enhance chicken selection, which contributes to continual improvements in productivity, sustainability and health for every generation of Aviagen birds.

Strengthening collaboration

Antonio Kalinowski, VP Live Production Strategy – Cargill Food LatAm (Latin America), shared his enthusiasm for the experience: "These types of visits are important to us, as they give us a unique perspective into the latest poultry innovations and insight into current global market trends."

Rodrigo Cisoto, Head of Technical Services for Aviagen Central America, Mexico and the Caribbean (CAME), added, "Cargill is a key customer for Aviagen globally, and we were thrilled to welcome their team. These events are a great opportunity to share knowledge, explore innovations and collaborate on strategies to strengthen bird welfare, sustainability and flock performance. It's also a reflection of how we're 'Breeding Success Together' with our customers across the globe."
