China Hog: Prices plummet further (week ended Jun 7, 2021)


With release volumes expanding, pork imports high and demand sluggish, hog prices continued to fall prominently. Since January, hog prices have plummeted 54%.


Hog releases are projected to increase, hence exerting pressure on the market amid lacklustre demand. Hog producers suffering losses will be reluctant to build inventories in the coming period.
