Vietnam's seafood exports estimated at US$2.13 billion
Vietnam earned US$2.13 billion from exporting of seafood products in the first five month of this year, rising 31% from the same period last year.
In May, the country's seafood exports were at US$520 million.
Pangasius fish has become Vietnam's top seafood, replacing shrimp. Vietnam expects to ship abroad 130,000-140,000 tonnes of seafood worth US$500 million monthly in June and July. The US, EU and Japan continue to be major markets for Vietnamese seafood.
