The meat sector of Santa Catarina, Brazil, saw a revenue totaling US$ 1.34 billion in the first four months of 2023.
There were 600,000 tonnes of meat exported (chicken, pork, turkey, duck and teal, beef, among others), representing an increase of 10.5% in the quantity exported and 20.8% in revenue compared to the same period in 2022. The positive results of this period are due to the growth of shipments to most of the main destinations, especially with China, increasing 8.8% in quantity and 30.4% in value, and with Chile increasing by 70.1% in quantity and 98.3% in value.
In the first four months of the year, Santa Catarina exported 206,700 tonnes of pork, with revenues of US$504.2 million, representing year-on-year increases of 13.5% and 27.8%, respectively. China and Hong Kong were responsible for 49.4% of these shipments in this first four-month period.
