EU bans pig imports from Lithuania

 

 

Member states of the EU, including the Czech Republic, have issued a ban on imports of live pigs from Lithuania.

 

According to Czech media, the Lithuanian government has confirmed that more than 60 Lithuanian pigs have classic plaque. The latest occurrence of this disease in the Czech Republic was in 1997. Classic plaque affected 63 pigs in Lithuania.
