Yeeda to boost halal beef output through US$18 million investment

Having recently received US$18 million from investment firm, ADM Capital, Yeeda Pastoral Company, the biggest beef producer in Western Australia, is set to increase its production of halal meat with the commissioning of a processing plant.

The move will benefit the company's beef exports to the Middle East, North Africa and emerging markets in Asia.

"The Halal aspect is particularly appealing as our team spend a lot of time in Indonesia, Malaysia and the Middle East and have witnessed first-hand the need for high quality halal agri products," Chris Botsford, the co-founder of ADM Capital, said.

He noted a significant rise in beef demands in tandem with higher incomes and shifting dietary trends in Asia.  "This coupled with food security issues in China give us strong confidence in the future of Australian beef production and in Yeeda," Botsford added.

With its fully integrated capabilities in red meat production, processing and distribution, Yeeda has in its possession, 95,000 head of cattle and 1.5 million hectares of land.

Its cattle herd includes grass-fed Brahman, Brahman Shorthorn cross and Brahman Charolais cross genetics.
