Methionine sellers in China stand firm on tight supply

Prices of methionine were stable to higher during the week ending May 30.

Prices of dl-methionine were mostly stable as feed millers held back procurements prudently while the outlook of the poultry markets was uncertain. However, lysine distributors were reluctant to lower prices as supplies were tight while prices rose significantly in Europe.

Price quotes of imported dl-methionine rose to the range of RMB30.50-31.50/kg, up by RMB0.30-0.50/kg.

RMB1=US$0.1518 (Jun 2)
