Ukraine's meat exports to increase, imports to decrease

Increasing exports, falling imports and a slight increase in production will continue in the Ukrainian meat market this year.

According to deputy chairman of the MHP board, Yuriy Melnyk, the production of chicken meat must stabilise in the next few years. The poultry meat output will not exceed 360,000 tonnes.

This trend in the industry is confirmed by state statistic figures. According to the State Statistics Service, the production of meat of all kinds (for slaughter) in January-March rose to 6.6% compared with 5% in the first quarter of 2010.
