China VA: Producers attempt to hold prices firm (week ended May 22, 2023)

Vitamin A producers were reluctant to negotiate prices, which have plummeted over 60% on-year. Export prices decreased, nonetheless, amid a weaker renminbi.
In the local market, the transaction prices of VA500 were stable to higher in the range of RMB77.70-90/kg. VA1000 prices stayed at RMB155/kg.
Export prices of VA500 dipped to US11.10/kg while those of VA1000 decreased to US22.20/kg.
Vitamin A producers will attempt to hold prices firm to sustain profit margins.
