Supply concerns hold China methionine prices firm
Prices of methionine were modestly higher during the week ending May 23.
Methionine distributors and traders stood firm in view of tighter availability as CJ cut imports to China while other producers halt operation for routine maintenance.
For liquid methionine, price quotes stayed at RM22-23/kg.
Although the demand for egg has improved due to the approaching of Dragon Boat Festival, broiler market remains weak. The demand for feed is therefore unlikely to increase by a lot in the coming weeks.
