Iranian science foundation aims  to obtain know-how to create heat stress relief supplement for broilers

The National Science Foundation of Iran is executing a plan to acquire the technical know-how to produce a heat stress relief supplement by using specific vitamins, minerals, polyphenols and probiotics in Arian crossbreed broiler chickens.

The plan is part of a post-doctoral project by Leyli Jamshidi, who focuses animal science from Ilam University. This research can help to obtain the technical knowledge pertaining to the use of biotechnology and nanotechnology to improve the effectiveness of vitamins and determine the appropriate level of nutrients in the conditions of heat stress affecting Arian crossbreed broiler chickens.

Iran is one of the six countries in the world that owns Arian crossbreed chicken line. The country had earlier embarked on long-term efforts towards food security by launching chicken line projects.

Additionally, the Biotechnology Development Headquarters of Iran's Vice-Presidency for Science and Technology seeks to expand the production and commercialisation of chicken lines and revive this strategic industry in the country.
