Hawa Chicken joins Aviagen's Ross 400 Club
Hawa Chicken is the latest poultry firm to join Aviagen's Ross® 400 Club in the Middle East and Africa.
The success comes as two of its contracted broiler farms recently reached a European Production Efficiency Factor (EPEF) of 400 or more with their Ross flocks. Both farms scored 416 and 413 respectively.
Founded in 1957, Hawa Chicken, the largest poultry company in Lebanon, is an integrated company offering high quality poultry meat exclusively from the Ross breed.
"We're delighted to welcome the latest members to the Ross 400 Club and it's great to see it growing in popularity," said Dr Ibrahim, Ross' international technical manager. "I am confident that more farmers across the MEA (Middle East and Africa) region will see the success that's been achieved so far and become members of the 400 Club in the near future."
Commenting on Hawa's recent achievement, Jalal B. El Hawa, the company's vice-president and general manager, said: "We are thrilled to have two farms achieving the required EPEF score. We aspire to make Hawa Chicken the primary poultry producer in the Middle East and using Ross means our breed is the best it can be."
Bulent Tanyildizi, Ross' international commercial manager for the Middle East & Africa, presented the award to Hawa Chicken.
"I am delighted for the Middle East that yet another company is demonstrating just what is possible with the Ross bird," Tanyildizi said. "It is perfectly suited to the area and I would like to congratulate everyone at Hawa Chicken, a company with a long and proud history, on this latest achievement."
