Joachim Wessel becomes new managing director for Cermaq Chile

Joachim Wessel has been announced as the new managing director for salmon farming company Cermaq Chile, replacing Pedro Courard effective from June 1, 2024.

Steven Rafferty, CEO of Cermaq, said, "Pedro has been a great asset to Cermaq since he joined Cermaq Chile as production director in August 2019, before becoming managing director in February 2022. While we are sorry to see him leave us, we wish him the best in an exciting change of position to a different country and with new challenges ahead."

Joachim Wessel joined Cermaq at the start of 2020 and has worked for major companies such as Mowi and AquaChile. He was previously a CEO of another salmon company, Friosur.

Pedro Courard is set to become chief executive officer of Atlantic Sapphire ASA, based in Miami, Florida, US.

The changes will take effect from June 1, 2024.
