China VA: Prices soften despite lower output (week ended May 9, 2022)

Even as production of vitamin A decreased, prices continued to slide amid sluggish sales.

In the local market, the transaction prices of VA500 dropped to the range of RMB180-218/kg. VA1000 prices weakened to RMB361/kg.

Export prices of VA500 slid to US$27/kg while those of VA1000 fell to US54/kg.

VA1000 price quotes in Europe softened to the range of EUR59-68-/kg.

Vitamin A market is poised to remain soft as feed producers hold back purchases.
