China Tryptophan: Prices weaken on slack demand (week ended May 9, 2022)

Tryptophan demand shoed little improvement while feed producers stayed prudent. Sellers who were eager to move sales negotiated prices over the week.


Over the week, export prices of tryptophan decreased to US$7/kg.


Transacted prices of local products dipped to the range of RMB46.90-55/kg while those of imported products stayed at RMB56/kg.


Feed producers will limit tryptophan purchases with the demand for livestock feed slow. Tryptophan producers will hold prices low in a bid to stimulate sales.
