Lesaffre inaugurates new yeast drying tower in France

Lesaffre has inaugurated a third drying tower dedicated to parietal fractions of yeast, at their Bio Springer site in Strasbourg, France.

With €7 million invested, the site will now be able to supply Phileo, Lesaffre's business unit specialising in animal nutrition, health and well-being, with close to 4,000 tonnes of yeast parietal fractions each year.

The 20-year-old Bio Springer plant in Strasbourg has been able to adapt and increase its production capacity in line with the market's increasing demand.

Lesaffre decided to invest in a third tower to increase capacity beyond the first two towers, and it is more specifically designed for dry parietal fractions of yeasts. The tower was activated in November 2014, and the conditioning line in February 2015.

Bio Springer is a Lesaffre company.
