Vietnam's pig prices spike 22% due to increased buying from China
China's traders are buying more live pigs from Vietnam, leading to a 22% rise in oversized pig prices since the beginning of April.
The uptrend is likely to remain until the end of 2016.
According to Nguyen Kim Doan, vice chairman of the Dong Nai Animal Husbandry Association, about 2,000 to 3,000 live pigs were transferred, on a daily basis, from Dong Nai to China.
"Most of them are oversized weighing about 120-140 kg," Doan said.
