AGCO buys over Farmer Automatic
AGCO Corporation, an international manufacturer and distributor of agricultural equipment, has acquired Farmer Automatic from The Clark Companies. The sale includes Farmer Automatic's manufacturing operations in Laer, Germany, as well as its global distribution network.
"Farmer Automatic's products are recognised by its customers for their design, quality and innovation. As part of AGCO, Farmer Automatic will fit with our GSI business," said Tom Welke, the senior vice president for global grain and protein in GSI, a company under AGCO. "Farmer Automatic will enable GSI to move into the commercial egg business and provide a full-line solution for our poultry customers."
"We are enthusiastic about the opportunities this deal will provide for Farmer Automatic's customers globally as well as for Farmer Automatic's employees, distributors and sales agents," said Jason Clark, the president of The Clark Companies.
It will be business as usual for GSI Protein Dealers following the completion of the acquisition of Farmer Automatic.
Farmer Automatic products will still be sold through their present distribution channels and will become part of the GSI/AGCO family of companies. It will remain a stand-alone company, progressively integrated into GSI over time.
