Hendrix Genetics acquires Hisex distribution from Interaves / Globoaves

Hendrix Genetics Ltda. located in Salto, Brazil, and Interaves / Globoaves, located in Birigui, Sao Paulo State, Brazil, reached an agreement for the acquisition of the distribution activities of Hisex layers.

The deal comprises the existing Hisex Parent Stock layers and hatchery in Birigui, including all staff.

The transaction between both parties has been concluded in a positive atmosphere that ensures continuous supply and quality for all customers and keeping the focus on customer care. With this acquisition, Brazilian egg producers will have direct access to premium quality, day-old Hisex chicks, directly from the source.

"As part of Hendrix Genetics' continuing expansion, this acquisition will further strengthen our business relation with our existing customers and demonstrates our commitment to the Brazilian egg industry," said Marco de Almeida, general manager of Hendrix Genetics Ltda.

"We believe that after fifteen years of building the Brazilian Hisex distribution within Interaves, it is time to transfer it to the supplier of the genetics, Hendrix Genetics," Roberto Kaefer, CEO of Globoaves, added. "We are convinced that the activities are in capable hands and with Hendrix, we continue having open collaboration in other activities."

"We are delighted to have concluded this transaction in good harmony with Roberto and Velci Kaefer," Servé Hermans, managing director of the Layer Business Unit of Hendrix Genetics, said. "It creates a solid base for Hendrix Genetics to further extend its breeding activities in Brazil."
