Vietnam's shrimp exports on the rise in Jan, Feb

 
 

Vietnam's shrimp exports are on an upward trend during January and February this year, according to the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP).

 

Overall seafood exports to the US and Hong Kong had increased by 36%.

 

On the other hand, "slight" decreases were reported in the EU (-1.8%), Japan (-2.4%), South Korea (-0.6%), Canada (-17.3%) and other Asian countries (-2.5%).

 

Hong Kong is becoming the second biggest market for Vietnamese shrimp exports which accounted for 17.1% of total exports.

 

For overall shrimp exports, the rate of white-legged shrimp is 65.1%, prawn at 35.8% and sea shrimp at 8.1%.
