Cameroon permits Brazil poultry imports

Dr Taiga, Cameroon Minister of Livestock, said the country is now permitted to import Brazilian poultry and poultry products as it aims to develop the local poultry industry and diversify import suppliers, Business in Cameroon reported.

The poultry imports from Brazil must adhere to Cameroon, Brazil, and the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) sanitary and zoosanitary requirements.

The authorisation by the ministry comes four months after Cameroon implemented a temporary ban on day-old chicks and hatching eggs imports to prevent the spread of bird flu in the country.
