China Threonine: Producers cut prices to entice buyers (week ended Apr 5, 2021)
 

Weak demand exerted pressure on threonine market as feed producers were reluctant to stock inventories with the livestock prices weak. Threonine producers cut prices in efforts to entice buyers while the costs of production moved lower.
 
Export prices slid to US$2.02/kg.
 
China exported 85,200 tonnes of threonine during January and February 2021, a year-on-year increase of 3,863 tonnes or 4.75%. The price hikes of corn lifted the unit cost of threonine exports to US$1,677.3/tonne, an on-year rise of 26%.
 
Total export value was US$142.877 million, a year-on-year increase of 32%.
 
The main exporting countries were Brazil, the Netherlands, Belgium, the United States, Spain, the Russian Federation, Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, India, Canada, South Korea, Ukraine, etc. Exports to Brazil were highest at 10,000 tonnes, followed by the Netherlands at 7267.5 tonnes and Belgium at 6,440 tonnes.
