Another H5N8 avian influenza case discovered in Hamburg, Germany
Germany's agriculture and consumer protection ministry said the avian influenza case was found at a turkey farm in Aurich in the northern state of Lower Saxony, reported Reuters.
All turkey on the farm was immediately culled and a quarantine has been imposed on the farm and the surrounding area.
Other European countries like Poland, Slovakia, Hungary and the Czech Republic have reported multiple avian influenza outbreaks over the last few weeks. Previously, a major avian influenza outbreak in Europe disrupted the region's poultry industry.
Germany has reported two previous avian influenza cases this year, one in early March and another in January in a wild bird.
