Yili continues to top on BrandZ Most Valuable Chinese Brands

With a brand value of US$6.235 billion, Chinese dairy giant Yili Group remains the leading enterprise in the food and dairy category on the list of "2016 BrandZ Top 100 Most Valuable Chinese Brands" released by Millward Brown  and WPP, world leaders in advertising and marketing services recently.

This is not the first time that Yili has come in top place, and its brand value has increased by 22% year-on-year. Mengniu and Shuanghui took second and third place with a brand value of US$4.755 billion and US$2.265 billion respectively. A total of six food and dairy brands have made it on the list with a total value of US$15.022, an increase of 3.1% from last year despite the fact that one brand has dropped out this year.

According to the report, "the announcement of the end of the one child policy drove share price appreciation, especially for market leading brands, based on a future with larger families and increased demand." As such, strong growth is expected in the food and dairy industry, especially for premium products.
