Light trade holds China methionine prices flat

Prices of methionine were unchanged during the week ending March 21.

Demand for methionine stayed weak as feed producers limited production although the poultry sector has shown signs of recovering.
Price quotes of imported dl-methionine remained in the range of RMB22.80-23.50/kg.

Sales of poultry feed should pick up gradually as the bird flu epidemic subsides, hence lending support to methionine market.
