Israel and India considering agriculture and dairy research fund
India and Israel are considering setting up a fund for promoting wide ranging collaboration in agriculture and dairy developments.
An Israeli delegation is currently in India for a eight-day visit until Mar 23 to identify areas of collaboration such as dairy management for reducing negative impact on the environment and water utilization for improved farm output.
The team will visit agriculture institutes and farms in Maharashtra and Rajasthan to explore areas for agricultural cooperation.
Zyi Herman, director of the Tel Aviv-based Centre for International Cooperation said the team's visit is a follow-up to Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar's visit to Israel in November.
Pawar is expected to lead a large Indian delegation to the International Agriculture Exhibition in Israel from May 9-11. Some 200 Indian delegates are expected at the event.
