Strengthened China livestock prices fail to stimulate methionine buying interest

Prices of methionine moved lower during the week ending March 18.

The recent upsurge in broilers and hog prices failed to boost the confidence of feed millers. Hence, the sales of methionine continued to remain slow, compelling producers and traders to negotiate prices in efforts to entice buyers.

Price quotes of imported dl-methionine consolidated lower in the range of RMB17.20-18/kg.

RMB1=US$0.1490 (Mar 18)
